Unfortunately,
people are more interested in what 'assets' a person owns, how much
property he or she has, to win the approval of the family when going for
a marriage proposal.
Gone are the days when people are simply interested in character, good manners, sincereity and good tarbiyah in the deen. It seems money and assets are the 1st requirement , the deen is the 2nd requirement.
May Allah swt guide us all. There is nothing wrong in wanting financial security, but some people are totally thinking of Rs in their mind before an acceptance.
Signs of the times.... May He guide us all.
